Therapy for Men in Los Angeles

Being a man today can come with a strange set of expectations.

A lot of the old expectations haven't gone anywhere. You're still expected to provide. To be competent. Confident. Resilient. To handle pressure, take some shit, and keep moving when things get hard.

But you're also expected to be emotionally available. Communicate well. Be vulnerable. Be a present partner and father. Know when to lead and when to listen. Be strong without being rigid. Confident without being arrogant. Gentle without becoming passive.

And somehow, you're supposed to know how to be all of those things at once.

I don't think the answer is choosing between being strong or emotional, driven or present, masculine or vulnerable. The harder and more interesting work is learning how to hold both.

That's a big part of how I view therapy for men today. I don’t want to make you more emotional or endlessly talk about how you feel. I want you to be able to understand yourself enough to know what's happening when you're angry, why you get defensive, what you do when you're overwhelmed, and what happens to you when the pressure gets too high.

Therapy is an investment in yourself to finally become the man you know you can be. To become someone who can handle pressure and communicate well. Who can be confident and still receive criticism. Who can be ambitious and still be present. Who can be strong and still let other people in.

The work is learning how to hold both.

Understand Yourself, Not Just Your Problems

I don't want to just help you solve this week's problems. I want you to feel more confident handling tomorrow's problems on your own.

But until you understand the patterns driving you, they'll keep making choices for you.

The better you understand yourself, the more choice you have in what comes next.

What we might work on...

RELATIONSHIPS & COMMUNICATION
Getting out of recurring conflicts, communicating more clearly, and learning how to stay engaged when conversations get difficult.

ANGER & DEFENSIVENESS
Understanding what happens underneath your anger, why you become defensive, and how to express what you're feeling without shutting down or blowing up.

ANXIETY & OVERTHINKING
Getting unstuck from rumination, anticipation, second-guessing, and the constant pressure to make the “right” decision.

STRESS & BURNOUT
Understanding the pressure that keeps you pushing, recognizing your limits earlier, and learning how to slow down without feeling guilty or unproductive.

CONFIDENCE, BOUNDARIES & SELF-WORTH
Learning to trust yourself, say what you actually want, tolerate disappointing people, and stop measuring your worth by how useful or successful you are.

IDENTITY, DECISIONS & DIRECTION
Figuring out what you actually want from your career, relationships, and life—and learning to make decisions without needing absolute certainty first.
