Understanding comes before change.
Most people come to therapy hoping something will finally change.
I don't believe change comes first. I believe understanding comes first.
Because when you understand yourself differently, you begin making different choices. Everything we do together is built around that idea.
-
You can't change what you don't understand.
We get curious before we get corrective. Together, we'll uncover the emotions, beliefs, and patterns driving your reactions so they no longer feel mysterious.
-
Understanding creates clarity.
Once you understand what's happening beneath the surface, you'll begin recognizing your patterns in real time instead of only after the fact.
-
Insight alone rarely changes a life.
Therapy isn't just about what happens in session. We'll practice new ways of responding, communicating, and showing up so understanding becomes action.
-
Eventually, it becomes yours.
The goal isn't to need therapy forever. It's to build enough self-understanding that you trust yourself to navigate life long after our work together ends.
No single approach works for everyone.
Depending on your goals and experiences, I draw from evidence-based methods such as EMDR, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), the Gottman Method, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
-
To better understand emotions and strengthen relationships.
-
To improve communication, repair conflict, and deepen connection.
-
To recognize the thoughts and beliefs that keep old patterns in place.
